It is my honor to welcome you to the Sustainability Center at the University of Tripoli—a living embodiment of our historic university's commitment to developmental and societal responsibility. Through this platform, we aspire to translate academic knowledge into practical solutions addressing urgent challenges confronting our nation: from water scarcity to waste management crises, from energy dilemmas to preserving our natural and cultural heritage.
At the heart of this national endeavor, our distinguished faculty members play a pivotal role. We deeply value their substantive research expertise; through their scholarly guidance and specialized counsel, we shall transform challenges into opportunities for innovation. Their field research will establish sustainability policies tailored to the unique context of Libyan communities.
Equally, our creative students remain vital partners in this journey. The Center will serve as a platform to nurture their visionary ideas, converting them into tangible community initiatives. We will provide practical training and youth leadership opportunities, firmly believing that the hands of Libya's youth are the foundational pillars for building a sustainable tomorrow.
Thus, through the integrated efforts of our dedicated faculty and promising students—and in partnership with national institutions—we shall pursue our vision of balanced development: harmonizing equitable economic growth, comprehensive social justice, and protection of our environment and identity. All this serves our beloved Libya, to which we pledge unwavering faith and devotion.

The center seeks to:
- Providing research, consulting, training, and information services, and awareness programs that contribute to activating and integrating societal sustainable development efforts at the University of Tripoli.
- Building local, regional, and international partnerships to achieve sustainable development without depleting available resources, and not prejudice the right of present and future generations to achieve a better life.

─ Contribute to building and developing community programs in accordance with sustainable development standards to achieve better living conditions for a society capable of benefiting from its potential and resources.

Tasks
The tasks of the Center are summarized as follows:
─ Proposing public policy and strategies to achieve community sustainability inside and outside the university.
─ Develop a plan to raise awareness and introduce the contents of the sustainable development goals, and organize conferences, seminars, lectures, workshops and training courses in the field of sustainable development.
─ Propose innovative and interdisciplinary research projects to address key sustainability issues: biotechnology, food sustainability, energy, water, waste and human sustainability.
─ Propose mechanisms to encourage academic publishing in the field of sustainable development.
─ Encourage and support educational programs and/or curricula related to the global Sustainable Development Goals.
─ Develop a platform for knowledge in sustainable development on issues related to national security.
─ Prepare periodic reports on community sustainability and submit them to the university presidency.
─ Topics referred to it in relation to community sustainability.
