The Department of Geology at the University of Tripoli participated in the workshop organized by the National Economic and Social Development Board (NESDB) on Thursday, December 28, 2023, entitled (Water Security between Production and Use), where the activities were opened by the Director General of the Council, in the presence of ( Ministry of Economy - Member of the Management Committee of the National Oil Corporation - Director General of the Hasawneh Man-Made River System - Director of the Department of Water Exploitation Affairs in Agriculture - Ministry of Water Resources Member of the Management Committee of the Public Services Company.

The workshop themes dealt with: 

Sustainability of water resources in Libya in light of climate change. (Presented by Abdalraheem Huwaysh, staff member at the geology department).

Libya's efforts to achieve the sixth goal of the Sustainable Development Goals 2023

Circular economy for recycling water resources. 

At the end of the workshop, the discussion was opened to present the opportunity to finance water resources projects and the institutional and legal framework for investing water resources in line with international agreements ratified by Libya, evaluating and rehabilitating the current infrastructure and proposing new projects.
